Found this on Twitter right after posting the Rockers vs Mods video. Though I usually wear a full-face helmet because I am a vain MFer.

A few weeks ago a group of scooterists and bikers met at an icehouse at 7 a.m. to film a short clip for the rally. I did a bad thing and violated the ATGATT creed so that I could look cute riding the Vespa in a miniskirt and without a helmet.

Friday night I went straight from lapdance class to the Houston Symphony’s performance of The Rite of Spring, which was magical, to say the least. I kept finding myself almost panting at the anxiety the frenetic music was causing me.

There is a bassist in the Symphony whom I absolutely adore. I first noticed him when I went to the Oscars Red Carpet Party. He has great hair and he’s very animated when he plays, banging his head like he was Lemmy or something.

• We’re riding the motorcycle from Houston for my family reunion
• Maybe we’ll make a side trip to White Sands
• or hike to the famous rotting railroad trestle one of my relatives helped build
• August 15-22 — maybe back to Sweden?

We’ll only be home about five weeks total during the entire summer. Looking forward to may adventures.

My first slideshow ever went live on the Houston Press website last night, pictures from Jen’s third annual Pawdrophenia scooter ride benefiting SMART Animal Rescue. I fell in love love love with a pug with a bum leg but CLH would never let me take home another dog. He was so sweet. His name was Obie.

I had just met Crystal, the Rocker girl, about five minutes before the shoot, and then we had to sit there and stare at each other menacingly. I couldn’t stop giggling. The awesome part was that she rode her own bike, and I rode mine. We’re legit!

Teabaggers were protesting downtown yesterday because it was tax day. Wonder if they drove in their cars on roads (paid for by tax money) to get to Discovery Green (also paid for by tax money).

Last weekend at the BMW motorcycle rally in Llano a couple of guys showed up with the Gadsden flag and this one hanging from their tents. “Don’t Tread On Me. Unless you’re a maker of fine German motorworks.” I wanted to take a picture but there was no way to do it covertly, and besides, they were drunk and I didn’t want them to throw me in the river.

More on the moto trip later. We camped, and carried everything with us on the Beemer.

All last week I was psyched about going to Soul Nite. I even interviewed the curator. Friday afternoon we decided that instead of paying $10 each for tickets, we’d splurge and finally become members of Aurora. Giving back to the organization that gave us a place to get hitched.

On Saturday we met our scooter club at the Eldorado Ballroom and danced until the curls fell out of my hair.
